MALAWI

Lake of Stars and so much more...

What do you get when you combine one of the biggest fresh water lakes in Africa with the vaulted heavens of the Milky Way? The Lake of Stars is what. Otherwise known as Lake Malawi, the natural wonder that put the country of Malawi on the map. Literally.

You understand the lake's nickname on a clear, still night when billions of our galaxy's stars are reflected in the water. This is also where you get to visit some of the most amazing beaches and picture-perfect tropical islands in Africa, hundreds of kilometres from the nearest coastline! Go figure!

Malawi's so much more than just a lake, though. Its wonderfully scenic topography is home to rambling tea plantations and great national parks filled with wildlife. The country's people are renowned for their friendliness and fascinating culture, which dates back countless millennia and includes remarkable clusters of ancient rock art that's recognised as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.
